David Mellor Design Museum Cafe

The Design Museum Cafe is a beautiful, unusual environment for relaxation and discussion. The 42-seat cafe faces out towards Michael Hopkins's Round Building and in summer the doors slide open to provide extra seating on the terrace. Designed by Corin Mellor the cafe is itself a fine example of informal modern dining style, equipped with the best David Mellor tableware.

The cafe serves delicious lunches using mainly local produce as well as specialist teas, coffee and an irresistible selection of homemade cakes. The menu changes daily according to the season.

The Round Building has received numerous architectural and countryside awards, including the BBC Design Prize. The factory is open for viewing and on weekdays visitors are welcome to see David Mellor cutlery being made.

There is level access into the cafe, museum and shop and an accessible toilet is available in the museum. Parking is also available for disabled visitors.
