The Bridge Inn
Welcome to The Bridge Inn, a 17th century inn on the banks of the river Derwent situated directly below Froggatt Edge and Curbar Gap within the heart of The Peak District National Park.
The Bridge offers a warm and friendly welcome with a cosy atmosphere and log burning fires. It's a relaxing place to come and enjoy a quiet drink or bite to eat.
With a very large riverside garden with seating for over 200 people, The Bridge Inn is a very popular stop for tourists and walkers throughout the year.
Look out for the hundreds of foreign currency bank notes stuck on the oak beams in the bar areas and the large collection of antique fire-fighting equipment on display.
The Bridge has been listed in The Good Beer Guide since 1993 and received its 10 year award in 2003. More recently it has been awarded the Cask Marque Certificate of Excellence for the quality of the real ales it serves. The Bridge is also listed in numerous walking and Peak District holiday guides.
Food is available every lunchtime between 12pm and 2pm when a wide selection of traditional bar meals such as Seared Fillet of Salmon, Breast of Chicken marinaded in honey and mustard, Olde English Fish Pie and Traditional Fish and Chips plus light meals and hot, cold and toasted sandwiches are on offer. Vegetarian options are always available.
The evening menu is served Tuesday to Saturday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm and between 7pm and 8pm on a Sunday during the summer months.
Table bookings are not accepted although tables of 8 or more people are requested to pre-book in advance.
The Bridge Inn has a well stocked bar, which always has a selection of at least 3 traditional ales and offers a good variety of reasonably priced wines from around the world, all of which have been personally selected by Ian.
