Wheels For All - Turn Up And Ride!!!
Chesterfield Borough Council have partnered Derbyshire Sport and Chesterfield School Sport Partnership to establish Chesterfield 'Wheels for All' hub. Local cycling business 'Wheely Fun Wheels' manages the centre and provides instructors. All the partners have worked closely with 'Cycling Projects' from Warrington who are nationally recognised providers of cycling centres for people with disabilities.
The hub is located in the Queen's Park in Chesterfield adjacent to the leisure centre. A route has been identified and approved to use including the old cycle track around the cricket pitch. More able riders will be able to access the Hipper Valley and Holmebrook Valley Trials that run alongside the Queen's Park.
Over the next few weeks 'Wheels For All' are offering 'turn up and ride' sessions. The bikes and their instructors will be on the path around the cricket pitch for you to ‘have a go’ on the dates and times shown below, no booking required. Nominal charge of £1 per person.
Why not go along and try out their range of bikes suitable for riders with disabilities?
