Changing Places change lives. They are special toilet facilities needed by 250,000 people in this country.

Thanks to local campaigning and a very proactive, forward-thinking county council, Derbyshire now has 23 Changing Places toilets across the county. In addition Derbyshire is one of the few councils in the country to have purchased its very own mobile Changing Places unit!

Earlier this year the council put the management of this unit out to tender with 'Disability Rocks' being awarded the contract.

Central to what Disability Rocks does is to produce and host events and festivals and coordinate and support music and arts initiatives which support people of all ages and disabilities.

This year Lea Green, Matlock is the Midlands venue for Disability Rocks after a new partnership with organisations in Derbyshire including Derbyshire County Council and Accessible Derbyshire.

The event will take place on Saturday 9th May 2015 and as well as live music, comedy and workshops, visitors will have the chance to get involved in some fun accessible activities and explore the scenic grounds of the centre near to Matlock, Derbyshire.

The festival will run from 11 am until 7.30 pm and features a host of musical and arts performances and workshops.

To book your tickets visit www.disabilityrocks.org or visit the Lea Green website: leagreen.derbyshire-outdoors.org for further information.

In preparation for the event the Derbyshire County Council Changing Places unit has received a fantastic new make-over.

We think it rocks!!!!
