Network Rail and Partners raise £11,432 for Super Sunday!

Super Sunday was an event run annually by Derbyshire County Council to provide a Fun Day for children with disabilities and additional needs where they could try adventurous activities, crafts, dance and drama and have a generally wonderful day away from the stigmas of everyday life.

Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, Derbyshire County Council were no longer able to run the event. This where Valerie Rogers and Network Rail stepped in, raising funds to hold the event once again - this time in partnership with Accessible Derbyshire.

With a variety of fundraising initiatives the incredible team at Network Rail raised an astonishing £11,432.33 to fund Super Sunday  on 27th September, 2015 - and what a fantastic day it was!

Activities included an accessible zip-wire, high-ropes course, team swing, accessible all-terrain vehicles, entertainment, food and games to mention just a few of the things on offer. What is more - the sun was even kind enough to shine all day!

Our thanks go to Valerie Rogers, to Network Rail and all their partners, to Lea Green, to all the people who so generously sponsored their efforts, to those who gave heir time to volunteer on the day, to all the activity, entertainment and food stall-holders and to the hundreds of people who came along to help make the day such a success.

Thank you so much everyone!!!!

Gillian and Jane.

Update: Valerie Roger, Network Rail and Lea Green won the award for Most Accessible Attraction at the inaugural Accessible Derbyshire Awards on 15th October, 2016 at Chatsworth House. You can see the full story of the awards by clicking here
