Hall Leys Park

This superb District Council Park in the heart of Matlock celebrated its centenary year in 2011. In 2013 Hall Leys Park gained its sixth consecutive Green Flag award from the Keep Britain Tidy Group, making it officially one of the best parks in the whole of the UK.

The updated children's play area is just one of many attractions in the Hall Leys, which was further enhanced in 2011 by a brand new toilet block and, in 2012, by new accessible play equipment suitable for disabled youngsters and their friends and family.

With well-surfaced paths, plenty of benches, good lighting and clear open spaces, the park is a regular venue for major events, competitions and festivals. The café and ticket office also display a useful range of information.

There are numerous entrances to the park from Causeway Lane (A615) and opposite the roundabout on the Snitterton Road (A6) interchange with Causeway Lane (A615). There is a convenient entrance to the park via a bridge across the River Derwent from Olde Derwent Avenue.
