The Burrows Garden
The Burrows Gardens, situated half way between Ashbourne and Derby is an extremely special place.
Set in the heart of glorious Derbyshire countryside, there are surprises around every corner for even the most discerning of garden visitors. It is all the hard work of one man, the owner Craig Dalton who has gloriously designed the garden leaving no stone unturned.
One is immediately struck by the immaculate lawns which in turn set off a vast array of themes throughout this 5 acre haven. Having hunted high and low for unusual plants, there is so much to see. For some, the temple garden, the Italian formal garden or the hidden bog garden hold favour, but for others it is the thoughtfulness of countless benches to sit upon to take in the peace and tranquillity of this truly wonderful place that hold their hearts, and the ever-changing colours throughout the opening season brings visitors back time and time again.
The garden is open to the public every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday where tea, coffee and homemade cakes are always available.
Group bookings are welcomed on any day of the week and for groups of over 20, a guided tour by Mr Dalton is also included in the entrance fee. Lunches and suppers are also available for groups subject to prior booking.
