Lane End Farm Trust
Lane End Farm is a working hill farm situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the middle of the Peak District National Park in North Derbyshire.
We provide a simple environment of real quality where disabled and disadvantaged young people can be at one with Nature and connect with their beautiful surroundings and our animals.
Lane End Farm caters for young adults from all walks of life; inner city, deprived, abused, neglected, disabled (both mentally and physically), or with learning difficulties and behavioural problems.
We help them by providing excellent outdoor farm activities and encouraging personal development. These have proved to be particularly successful for young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
We have provided work experience and support that has enabled some of our young people to achieve NVQ’s in Land Based Operations and Animal Care. We now offer conservation and horticulture, and hope in the longer term to include horse care.
We support young people to develop life skills, such as cooking, budgeting, conflict resolution and problem solving and move towards independent living.
We do have placements available at the moment. We charge £58.50 per day which includes meals and accessible transport from Hathersage station and currently offer up to 3 days a week.
We have good access to the farmhouse for our daytime activities and have ramped access to all areas of the farm where we carry out activities.
We have a wheelchair accessible minibus.
