Famous for its natural spring water and Georgian Architecture, Buxton is a lovely place. The Georgian Crescent (soon to be a 5* spa hotel) is a well-known attraction along with the Pavilion Gardens, 23 acres of award winning ornamental gardens including serpentine walkways, children’s play areas, lake and miniature railway.
The historic winter gardens link to the opera house and the main building houses a bistro, Art Café, Gallery, retail area and Tourist Information.
On a sunny day it is great to have a picnic in the gardens or relax and watch the world go by!
The shopping area of Buxton also has lots to offer with large and independent retailers.
A short drive away a visit to Poole’s Cavern and Buxton Country Park is a must, where you can explore the vast limestone caverns with the dramatic crystal stalactites and stalagmites that have lined the chambers over millions of years.
