SPECIAL FRIENDS FOR DERBYSHIRE!

5th Sep 2014

Being the parent or carer of a young child with additional needs can sometimes leave you feeling alone and overwhelmed. Although there are lots of other people in the same boat, finding them can be difficult.

That's what inspired local mum Lucy Sarna to set up a new group called Special Friends. Based in Belper and serving  the surrounding areas, the group aims to provide friendship and support to adults and children alike.

Special Friends meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 9.45 am - 11.45am at Belper Children's Centre, Alder Road, Belper, DE56 1LP.

The group is open to all, including Siblings

Sounds great Lucy!  We are sure the group will go from strength to strength and fulfil a much-needed role in the area.

Very best wishes to everyone at Special Friends from the Accessible Derbyshire team!
