Following their visit to parliament, Founders of Accessible Derbyshire Gillian and Jane attended a Visit England reception. Hosted by Visit England Chair Lady Cobham, this event was celebrating the progress made in accessible tourism in the UK.

Gillian and Jane took the opportunity to network with others in the accessible tourism field and were described by James Berresford, Head of Visit England, as 'the two most passionate people I know...”

Gillian said: “We could not have been more delighted with our visit to London. The opportunity to share what we are doing with so many influential and like-minded people was invaluable.

Accessible Tourism is worth £12.4 billion pounds in the UK and is an important, vibrant and growing area of the economy."

Accessible Derbyshire is committed to helping local businesses secure their share of this market  by providing the right support, equipment, funds and training. In turn this enables disabled people, their families, friends and carers to get out and about and enjoy life to the full!
