Mayor's Appeal Raises £14,000 for Accessible Derbyshire!

The Mayor and Mayoress of Chesterfield from 2016 - 2017: Councillor Steve and Jill Mannion-Brunt kindly chose to support Accessible Derbyshire during their mayoral year along with raising funds for the new MacMillan Cancer Centre at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

Countless events were held during the year including a '40's, Fish and Fizz' evening at Chester's Restaurant, a vintage bus trip to' Pipes in the Peak', a Sporting Dinner at the Proact Stadium and a fabulous beer festival in Chesterfield Market Hall. Along with many other events and very generous donations from across the community , together with the hard work of the Mayor and Mayoress and the fundraising committee, the mayoral appeal raised an incredible £28,000, half of which has been donated to Accessible Derbyshire!

We want to thank the hundreds of people who have supported the mayoral appeal over the  past year for  all your kindness and generosity. It means so much to us and will make a huge difference in helping people with access needs to enjoy our beautiful part of the world. We also want to thank all the members of the Mayor's Appeal Committee and the Mayor's Chauffeur Tony Stacey for all their help and support. Above all we want to thank Steve and Jill for choosing to help our little charity to grow and to make a difference. We've put together a slideshow which you can see below which captures some of the special memories from Steve and Jill's mayoral year:

As we put this money to work we will keep you updated with the equipment we purchase and the services we provide so that you can see what your money has bought.

Thank you so much to all of you from the bottom of our hearts,

Gillian and Jane.
