Grayling Society donates £300 to our Wheelyboat appeal!

The Grayling Society kindly invited Accessible Derbyshire to one of their winter meetings this evening. The group, which meets at the Rutland Arms in Bakewell, are all keen anglers and wanted to make a contribution to our Wheelyboat appeal for Ladybower Reservoir.

After an entertaining talk by Mike Green, who has travelled to many countries in pursuit of his passion for fishing, we were presented with a cheque for £300 towards the Wheelyboat fund. A Wheelyboat makes it possible for a wheelchair-user to wheel straight onto the vessel without leaving their chair and enables them to fish to their hearts' content - as this video explains!

With £2000 already donated to the appeal by Sam Hindley, a further £2000 having been raised by Ladybower Fisheries at their Open Weekend last October and £500 on its way from Lloyds TSB we are well on our way to raising the £6,600 needed for our contributionthe boat. Once we have reached our target the Wheelboat Trust will match the funds we have raised making the Wheelyboat a reality!

Our genuine thanks goes to everyone involved with the Grayling Society for their kind and very generous dontation.

We would love to hear from anyone who would like to contribute to our Wheelboat appeal for Ladybower. If you are able to help please get in touch with us at info@accessiblederbyshire.org.
