Accessible Derbyshire Awards 2018 - Nominations now open!
In 2016 we held the first ever Accessible Derbyshire Awards at Chatsworth House. This year the awards return to celebrate the people, places and projects that help to make Derbyshire and the Peak District accessible for all.
On Saturday, 10th November, our awards return to Chatsworth House, with the awards ceremony being held in the beautiful Carriage House Restaurant.
This year there are 13 award categories, which are:
• Most accessible town or village
Awarded to the Derbyshire town or village which has made the greatest commitment to improving its accessibility
• Most accessible attraction
Awarded to the Derbyshire attraction which has done the most to welcome disabled people
• Most inspirational person or group
Awarded to an individual or group from Derbyshire who has inspired people locally or nationally on an accessibility related issue, project or activity
• Best newcomer of the year
Awarded to a business, organisation or individual in Derbyshire who is new to accessible leisure and tourism and who has excelled in this field
• Project of the year – small project
Awarded to a smaller project in the region whose aim is to improve accessibility
• Project of the year – large project
Awarded to a larger project in the region whose aim is to improve accessibility
• Organisation of the year
Awarded to a Derbyshire organisation which has shown outstanding commitment to improving accessibility across its operation
• Accessible event of the year
Awarded for an event which has gone the extra mile to welcome people with access needs
• Most inspiration fundraisers
Awarded to the most inspirational Accessible Derbyshire fundraisers
• Gateway to Derbyshire
Awarded to the organisation from outside Derbyshire which has excelled in improving accessibility in our region
• Heart of the Community
Awarded to the accessible organisation or venue in Derbyshire which is at the very heart of its local community
• Best new initiative
Awarded to a new accessible initiative or activity in Derbyshire
• The Thomas Scotford Award
This new award, dedicated to Thomas Scotford who sadly passed away in 2017, acknowledges the special achievement of an individual or group
Nominations are welcome from individuals, groups or organisations across Derbyshire and the Peak District.
You may nominate yourself, your organisation or someone else for one or more of the above award categories using the Accessible Derbyshire Awards 2018 Nomination Form which you can download below:
Nominations are open from 1st August to 1st September, 2018 inclusive.
Winners will be selected by the Accessible Derbyshire Trustees, and those shortlisted will be notified by 15th September, 2018.
