Barlow Accessible Fishing Event - 11th October

On Sunday, 11th October 'Enable'will be hosting their second Accessible Fishing Event. The last event was really successful with over 40 people enjoying  catching loads of fish supported by their team of volunteer anglers.

So, if you fancy a day or even just an hour of accessible fishing at a stunning location why not pop along and join them? Details of the day which lasts from 10.00 - 3.00 are as follows:

"Meet at by the café: Barlow Lakes, Crowhole, Barlow, Dronfield, Derbyshire S18 7SX. From Barlow turn of Millcross Lane (B6051) down Smeltinghouse Lane.

Whether you’re a regular angler or want to find out more about fishing our accessible fishing day is for you!  We had great feedback on our day in August. Set in beautiful countryside the site includes three wheelchair accessible ‘pegs’ to fish from and there is just a short distance from the car park to lakes on hard  paths.

The fisheries have a café as well as an accessible toilet.  You can join us for the day or drop in for as long as you like. Just turn up, we have lots of fishing tackle and bait people can use and volunteers to offer practical help, advice and encouragement.

Cost for the day per person is £5, supporters are free, and includes rods, tackle and bait!

If there is enough interest we want to develop a learning disability friendly club that will meet regularly to FISH, SOCIALISE AND GET ACTIVE.

We have up to 30 places available.

For more information and to book your place phone Enable on 01246 599999, contact Gary Fothergill on 07477 558755 or email Tomw@enable-group.org.uk. Unfortunatlely we are we can’t offer any additional support so please bring any helpers you need along with you rather than coming alone if you need additional support.

Do contact us with any questions."

Enable
